Ultimately if you eat more calories than you burn on a daily basis you will gain weight. Finding the right balance is key to leading a healthy lifestyle.

Women who get little exercise typically need about 1,600 calories per day

Active women need about 2,000 calories per day

Less active men need about 2,000 calories per day

Active men should eat about 2,400 calories per day
